Should achievement glitchers be banned?

Well its obvious to everyone that the people with the most achievement points cheated their way up there,
they managed to hack the game and insert illegally downloaded games into their harddrive, and automatically get all achievements.Now you can correct me if I am wrong, but its called a achievement because you need to earn it.people who hack and cheat take the power of the leaderbords away for the people who worked hard for it. and now they just can get away with it.I think xbox should investigate if the player hacked the game, or it should try to improve it. because for a lot of people (including myself) earning achievement's is a fun part of the game, a exciting part that keeps you playing so you can show the world you got that particular achievement. And those people just screw it up for others.So what do you think, should xbox try to look if they hacked or make new security measurements for the disk or trough an update,or should those people just do what they want to do, and just glitch their way up. Should achievement glitchers be banned?
Yes they should be.. You gain the achievement by performing an act which.. using the normal game mechanics should be difficult... anyone using an ''unofficial'' way of gaining that achievement lessens your effort.



Though as there is no practical way of policing this I just content myself in the knowledge that I have gained all mine through hard work.. and therefore am a better gamer than the glitchers.Should achievement glitchers be banned?

I could care less what someone else's gamerscore is, let alone what mine is. I do like to get the achievements in games, but it is more about getting a feeling of completion when I get one rather than having some meaningless gamer score. If we were given something for a high gamer score that would be one thing, but we arn't. It is only a number.

I agree entirely.
I can however understand your frustration at leader board based achievements as glitchers could prevent you from ever attaining them.
Well, I'd imagine the guys at Microsoft would want to ban those guys for simply hacking rather than achievement boosting.

I am definitely in favor of banning as a result of hacking. If you have nothing better to do with your time then hack the system to boost your gamerscore you obviously have some serious issues that need to be addressed.
gamerscore isnt worth banning someone for.
I think over all gamerscore is pointless and just proves that you have more money to spend on games than I do.If I play only Halo or Madden I don't care if you have 87095gs.

Resetting and tagging someone's gamertag as achievement glitchers is more humiliating than getting banned

where have you guys been add? They were banning people for this last year. They removed their gamer score to zero and even changed their profile to sale cheater or something on xbox.com
Achievement glitcher's should be thrown in jail. Locked and shacked up, and then do some time.



No really. Try not to pay any attention to achievements.
People who cheat for achievements ruin the whole point of achievements. They should be hung in an online sense.
Who cares. You got you're achievement. Be happy. Why do you care about what other people want to do? It shouldn't affect you.
People who hack their consoles to unlock achievements without playing should get their scores reset and accounts banned.



But for in game leaderboards, while annoying that people try to boost them, there's nothing that can be done in most cases. They are playing the game, albeit in a very unfair way with their friends, and just abusing the system, as opposed to totally breaking the rules by hacking their console to do something.

i agree also. its only a number. but lets say if u get like rewards or prizes for having a high gamerscore. then yes..they need to be banned but really.. it doesnt matter. i could care less about them...
They do.
who cares if someone is cheating for the gamerscore? it's just a number. If someone is that dumb to do it, good for them.. I could care less if someone I don't even know glitched there way too unlocking achievements.. it doesn't affect me at all.
