Fallout3 or Oblivion?

I don't want this to be a bashing thread or whatever you call it, but can anyone truthfully tell me which game is the better? I've got a budget and I don't know which one to choose. Thanks a lot.Fallout3 or Oblivion?
gears of war 2Fallout3 or Oblivion?
Not very helpful...
Not very helpful...
seriously though I have all three and the one that gets played most is Gears of War 2, very addicting.
I prefer Fallout 3 by far. I did not like like Oblivion at all. Fallout has great humor, and the action is MUCH better than in oblivion. Weapons actually feel like they have weight.
rent them and find out for yourself....don't get us to make the decisions you should be making
I actually liked Oblivion more and it seemed to have more depth, as far as action I guess I would give it to Fallout 3 but its just sloppy FPS Mechanics with a nice working VAX system.c
fallout3..u will not be dissapointed
Fallout 3 was amazing. I haven't played Oblivion yet but will soon.
@OfficialBEd Sorry i don't have 10 bucks to spend at blockbusters. i don't see what's the problem in asking a simple question.
The battle system of Fallout 3 is amazing, and Oblivion is just a smashing button.Go to Fallout with no doubt!
Fallout

I haven't played Fallout 3 yet but I have both GoW 2 and Oblivion and I think Oblivion is a MUCH better game.
The world of Fallout is much more well-made than the world of Oblivion. It is a bit smaller, but that just cuts down on the useless time grind of hiking through mountains fighting bears to get to unknown locations. Playing fallout 3, you don't feel like any of the world map is extra space, the story is well-written and more mature than Oblivion, and the combat system is much better, as is weapon feel. The laser weapons don't seem like stupidly overpowered or fantastical things, the repair system for both your own health and your items works great, and the ''pip boy'' watch doubles as both a light and a mood-setting radio. That means no torch going out in caves, and that you don't compromise defense in order to see (like in oblivion when you have to drop a shield to hold a torch.) enemies are also better. Fallout 3 also has a chainsaw and all kinds of execution kills with the various weapons. I suppose that might be a factor in your decision. Oblivion feels more like a T-rated game. Also, fallout's characters are more dynamic. You can easily kill many more of the story's characters than in oblivion. Only a handful cannot be randomly shot, closing some story paths to (possibly) open new ones. That being said, Oblivion is longer. I never finished it, but I certainly clocked my 150+ hours (I never did the main quest). I've only played Fallout 3 for about 20 hours so far, but I like it more in almost every respect of the word.EDIT: If you really want a fantasy game, get Oblivion. If you are impartial or lean at all in the other direction, go with Fallout. I mean, Oblivion is still really good. Fallout is just more real and modern. There are more variety in the things you can do, and the radiation and addiction systems are just a couple things oblivion doesn't have that make fallout moreunique and exciting. Oblivion feels much more like a single-player MMO, with dungeons and loot grinds and all that sort of thing, than fallout.
They are both amazing, you can't go wrong. Get one now, and one later when you save more cash. Which type of Sci-Fi do you enjoy more, the futuristic style, or the old-world/fantasy type style? That should be the deciding factor. Other than those two themes, the games are both great and both pretty similar.
Besides Oblivion running like **** on my PC, I thought it was an amazing game. I put 74 hours into it, before the performance just kept me from wanting to play it anymore. I'm getting Fallout 3 for Christmas, but I would probably go with Oblivion+ extra content
I have yet to play Fallout 3 but I will after Christmas I played a little Oblivion and I can tell you it's a great game although I found myself unable to get into because of the Medieval fantasy setting (No offense to anyone who loves it.). I found myself wishing that the people who made this game would make a more modern RPG with guns and not so fantasy weapons. I from the looks of it got my wish :)! It really depends on what type of player you are and which setting you prefer. Medieval Fantasy or Post Apocalyptic. They have Zombies and almost anything with Zombies RULES!
i enjoyed fallout 3 more. So your answer is fallout 3
