Assistance about Xbox360 scratching disc ...

Recently I believe my Xbox360 is scratching my games. I have had the red ring of death, and my Xbox360 came back with no problems touch wood, however the first time I believe the disc drive was damaging my games was on fallout 3, when the game was taking forever to load and the disc drive was making a racket, my xbox has always been stood vertically. I checked the disc, and gave it a clean, and it started working again properly, but if I continue using it will it become worse like the discs on the below link.http://ww.llamma.com/xbox360/news/images/120205%20063.jpgDo Microsoft plan to address this problem, or release an external disc drive that does not chew up games. Also do newer versions of the console like the Elite Xbox360 have the same problem. Another thing do d-skins work, I have read mixed reviews?Assistance about Xbox360 scratching disc ...
It sounds like EXACTLY what I had. If it is what I had, then it will only get worse and scratch more games. It is a known issue with the 360 and it is less likely with the newer consoles. If it is still under warranty then I suggest you get it in to be fixed ASAP. If not, then it'll cost you $100 for M$ to fix it although you may be better off buying an Arcade version if you can afford the extra $$$ and don't mind not being able to play original Xbox games. Installing games onto your HD should help a lot with this issue if you have XBL and the NXE. Assistance about Xbox360 scratching disc ...
I think my warranty has expired because it is over a year ago since I got the red ring of death, but I'm not sure without ringing. Until I know there is something wrong I might leave it, but play some of my older games like DEF JAM ICON or an ice hockey game I've got, and see if any scratches appear on them, even so it is quite annoying. I don't really want to buy another xbox360 unless I really have too, also when the xbox is not in use, are you suppose to take the game disk out of the drive or is it ok to leave it in, I believe your suppose to do this with DVD players?
