Microsoft took out $15 dollars from my A ...

I have two things charged, $7.99 twice but I haven't logged on Xbox Live for almost two weeks. Why the hell did they do this?Microsoft took out $15 dollars from my A ...
why on earth would you come here to ask why a 3rd party charged your card... why not call the people who charged it?Microsoft took out $15 dollars from my A ...

Um, isn't MS first party?
Check your emails.

MS is a first party game maker, yes. But mfp16 is referring to us: we on the forum are the 3rd party to the transaction between MS and the topic creator.
You can check your previous transactions to see what that money was spent on (or download history) and if nothing was taken then call up MS.

You learn something new everyday
Similar thing happened to me. My account was renewed and I hadn't even asked for it. Wham, $80NZD out of my account. Just call customer support, be an ass and they'll give you're money back.
Yeah they charged me $50 for a new subscription when I was gonna let it run out. I was gonna go on the site and cancel my subscription (yes you can do this actually) but unlike the last time my subscription was about to end they didn't give me the one week warning they just charged my card and emailed me the receipt. I totally shady business practice and I don't recall that ever being ever explicitly said when creating the account unless its hidden in that wall of text TOS when you sign up. It would be ok had I known or if an option would be given to choose to do that or not. But just taking my money without telling me is really really shady.

Your getting charged for XBL per month, after your year sub is up they charge you per month for 2 or 3 months until they cancel it.

So that well you agreed to it crap don't fly sonny. Microsoft as well as every other business knows almost noone reads those agreements and practically count on that fact so they are not liable for things and can just blame it on not reading something. They should tell you in plain black and white on screen when you are signing up for the account they hold the right to charge your card and allow you to opt out of it instead of putting it god knows where in that licensing agreement and letting you find out a year later what you let them do.

If they put it in that ToS then they are putting it in black and white for ya. Its not THEIR fault you were too impatient to read it.

Its not THEIR fault you were too impatient to read it.
I want you to honestly tell me you read it, you sat down and you read that thing to the letter before you clicked accept. Because I about guarantee you too were impatient and wanted to get playing already just like every other single person who created their account. MS knows noone reads that. And thats not what I mean by black and white. The ToS is on the right side of the screen in all its wall of text glory and on the left is the options......you don't suppose such an important detail as the option to let Microsoft take money out of your bank account could not be put on the left side of the screen? And regardless of if it being in the ToS or not you can't get an Xbox Live account without agreeing to it unless buy the subscription cards and point cards from a retail store and never provide them with your credit card info at all.
err they tell you in bold writing outside the TOS that its a re-occuring charge, also they email you before it runs out to notify you that they will charge your account also , just like they email everyone when they subscriptions are about to run out, this is your fault no one elses. blame away you just need to be more responsible with your credit card and know what you sign up for otherwise you dont deserve one. if u want to use a card and not get charged, then u sign up - buy what u want. and then cancel ur subscription. this will then keep what days you have left on gold subscription and then not renew it when these days are up. pretty simple

its totally your fault no one elses,. grow up blaming ms and learn to be responsible with your credit card
also they email you before it runs out to notify you that they will charge your account also , just like they email everyone when they subscriptions are about to run out, this is your fault no one elses.
thissss
This is the reason to use prepaid cards for subscriptions than give your credit card details. No one bothers to read the EULA or ToS agreements but they do state you are signing up to automatically renew when it runs out.

You can call anytime and have them turn ''auto renew'' off. I did this with my wifes account because I will be away when it renews and it would be a hassle to have to call then while traveling. I am not sure if this is new but it was not around 3 years ago when I had a similar problem with them renewing a month trial account after I had deleted my profile and forgot about it.

Shady is when you arn't told. I personally don't read 100% of them either, but that doesn't change the fact that they tried to give me the info. They didn't hide it from me, in fact they made sure to ask if I read it before I could continue. If you and I don't read it is our fault, not thiers. If they shouldn't put it all in writing, how are you suggesing they give this info to us? There is a lot of it you know. Would it be better for them NOT to write it all out? No it wouldn't, that is how they do it.
